Last week was the release of four new sets over at My Favorite Things. I already showed you the 'Maid for You' set and an 'Owl for All Seasons', now here is what I did with a 'Good Knight'. I have been crying about my lack of 'man stamps' , and now I have a set that can work for Valentine's, Father's Day and birthdays!
I did add my Martha Stewart glitter to the scales, wings and the horns. I used that silver paper I bought at Michael's and paper pieced it into the knights sword...this impressed my daughter!
I colored my guys up with my colored pencils and gamsol, and the cool stripe paper is from Scenic Route.
Peace out, and see ya soon! love, paula :)

Great idea for male cards. I'm so glad you'll be making more of them so you can share with the rest of us poor crafting souls out here ;-)

I just found your blog and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Your coloring is amazing! You just used color pencils and gamsol? How on earth do you keep from smudging over the lines?!? Your detail is amazing. And the sewing, I love how you use it. Makes me want to bust out my sewing machine and give it a whirl! Keep posting and I'll keep reading! :)

This is so cute! I know this may sound like a silly question, but how do you use gamsol with colored pencils? Do you use it to blend the colors after they are on the paper, do you moisten the paper with it first, do you use a brush or blender pen, is it something you dip your pencil into, etc.? Thanks.

Chris, here's what I know and I am nowhere near an expert. You take the colored pencils and shade the areas you want color, not too dark. Just a little shading. Then you take some gamsol, I use pointed q-tips (make up ones)and you rub the gamsol over the colors essentially getting rid of the lines. This looks like Paula's coloring, where it's smooth and shaded nicely. You keep adding more color and blending to get the shading/coloring you want. Paula is a pro at this! :) Hope this helps.
