paper possibilities

tilda with tag...

Today I wanna show you another sweet little Tilda, holding a tag, that you can personalize any way you want.  {I used a very thin .005 pen to personalize mine}  

I was coloring up a bunch of red/pink Valentine images when I colored this little girl, so I grabbed some different colors. Prismacolor pencils have a shade called 'limepeel' and I could use that shade of green everyday! lol {here I just used it on her little shoulder straps}  When I pulled out the assorment of papers that Magnolia had sent me with my stamps, this paper was so perfect!  I did add glitter to the lines in between the daisy flowers.

I am outta here until tomorrow morning when I will be channeling Martha and trying out some of the recipes in her Jan 09' issue...sliders and chicken wings. mmmmm

valentine tilda...

Did I mention that I didn't have to work today? LOL  I am up early with a full day of stuff to do. Wash clothes, wash the dog, clean the bathroom, shop for the SuperBowl get together my husband likes to have... I didn't even mention that I have cards I wanna make!  So, here I am getting up early and getting my post rolling.

I have been working on my Magnolia stamps and I have to say that this is my FAVORITE Magnolia card to date!  

This little girl is sitting in a frame or window, however you wanna look at it. It is totally my style, clean and unfussy! I wasn't sure about adding the little 'love' tag either...I called my daughter in to give me her opinion. Ok, the tag won out, but it is easily removable too.  I {heart} her little socks!

More Magnolia tomorrow...now I getta get washing those clothes!

he loves me, he loves me not...

Does any one remember the old commercial for Prince spaghetti? "Wednesday is Prince spaghetti day!"  Well, today my 'prince' is making that spaghetti, which leaves me time to get on here and type this post out! I am happy, happy, happy!

So, onto what ya'll came over here to see... a pretty creation that I turned into a sympathy card.  

This flower is from Magnolia and I colored it in whites and yellows, with a little orange to get it to pop. Are you seeing the 'pop' where you are? 

I stamped this out on the backside of some Bazzill cardstock...love their shades, love their texture, but it isn't stamp friendly unless you turn it over. Then if you press hard enough, you can get a linen texture which I do like. {not sure if you can pick much of that up on this photo}

I went back to one of my favorite techniques which is inking the edges of my paper. When I scrapbooked I could not get enough of this and not a page went by that did not have an inked edge. I do this still on many cards, but not all. This card seemed liked it called for that special inked edge.

The little tag is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, 'mixed messages'. As always, I used my colored pencils and gamsol to color my image!

I just want to add a little note on here today...I have been asked a few questions and if I have not emailed you personally to answer them...I still have the questions and I don't think I have forgotten any still to be answered. As soon as I have a chance to get to them, I answer back to whatever email is provided to me when you post on my blog. one sly fox...

As promised yesterday, here is the other image from Imaginisce. I came home from work today and finished two of these cards up.  

Doesn't he have the cutest huge eyes!!  I used the 'Twitterpated' papers again, and the same Hero Arts font from yesterday. I also colored him with my Lyra pencils and gamsol.

Short and sweet tonight, and tomorrow I have a Magnolia card to show off.  Right now I am headed to watch a little tv before bed. Peace out!

getting twitterpated...

Last week I stopped into a lss, Scrappy Chic, because I had not been in there since the fall...{wow, had it really been that long?}  I love their selection of papers, very much my style and I always walk out with something I did not see at any of the other stores. It's rare that I am drawn to papers with all the extra glitz and glam added on it, because some of those papers can cost $2.00 a sheet! {no way!} But... Imaginisce has a line out called "Twitterpated" and I fell in love with 2 of the little .99 cent stamps, a fox and a little bird. 

I just wanted to color something easy and quick, so I colored both on Sunday afternoon. Here is the first card I made using the bird. {while I liked the fox slightly better, I grabbed this one first tonight} 

I bought several of the sheets of the Twitterpated line, and they are double-sided! {bonus!!} I used my Lyra pencils on this little guy, or maybe girl... haha   Nothing too fancy, because it took me a good chunk of time deciding which paper combo I wanted to use. The downside of having 4 sheets of double-sided paper. The font is from Hero Arts, and stamped in a chalk ink from Colorbox.

I will get back with the fox card tomorrow, I can barely keep my eyes open and I would love to make it through '24' tonight. See ya soon!

2 cute...

Have you ever tried to get something done and then have everyone or everything get in the way of your task? Tonight that's my problem! lol Conversations, video game playing, grocery shopping, making tacos and phone calls...I could have had this posted if not for all of the above! But, my evening is getting quiet finally and I can concentrate on this here.

I wanna show you the second card I made with the Heartbreaker set from BC Dzyns/MFT. 

She looks totally different to me and I love her dark hair. I added some extra lashes and a little mole on her cheekbone. I added a little bling to her finger, did ya notice?

The patterned paper is from American Crafts and I really like the graphic look of this years Valentine line. How do you like the brown/red combo?  I don't think I would have thought of it, but I really like it!

elzybells challenge 12...

Hi guys, today is Elzybells Challenge day! This challenge was for us to create a Valentine treat/gift. I knew I wanted to try a clear paint can...filled with chocolate. I have done one other paint can way back when, when they were all the rage. I still have that first can, but I never was thrilled about it. So I stopped at a lss and grabbed a small clear container. Since I just {heart} this little bear, 'teddy heart wreath', I had to color him up again . 

I don't know where the idea popped up from, but I wanted felt to cover my handle. It took a while to hand stitch  that on there, and as good as I felt the front came out...I am not gonna show you the back...lol! The other thing I have to confess to, is that there is red paper under this pink polka dotted paper. I stamped out the 'hugs & kisses' sentiment all over it, in a darker red...but while it was pretty at first, it soaked in and you could almost not see it at all. I must remember that next time! haha

she's a heartbreaker...

Hi guys! MFT is releasing the newest BC Dzyns today...Heartbreaker, and I wanna show you what I did with her. In case you also wanna see what the other gals all did on the blog hop...start here! In the mean time... 

Isn't she preeetty?

I am a sucker for short hair, so I loved seeing this bob haircut.  I was also a sucker for playing with those giant Barbie heads and putting makeup on them, as a kid. That is what it's like coloring these girls.

I still had some of the digital heart paper from MFT, and it matched so perfectly with my heart shade.  I used my prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color my young lady, adn added my stitching.

Well, I am going to get outta here and check out the Blog Hop. I was having techincal difficulties @ work today and it wouldn't let me pull up anything online on the hop.

altered composition books...

How do you spell exhausted?  p-a-u-l-a!  This week our shop is shut down on the production line. I am working for a few days to help my friend, {who is also the shop floor manager} clean. I like to clean, but I did spend a good portion of the work day on my hands and knees...with a vacuum hose in my hand. I can't believe how tired I am and how sore my hands are! lol Now, our floors are not what you might expect in a manufacturing shop...they are a glossy grey and they are very well kept up. It's just that dust bunnies as big as your fist tend to gather under machinery, and while we have brooms all over the place...this machinery is run by young guys. *wink* Need I say more?

This weekend I was busy working on projects and I finished three for my mom. She really liked the altered composition book that I had made for myself, and asked for 2. I made a third one, because when you see the last image I colored...I could not put it on a card! I was

having a small Bella withdrawl, so colored up Belinda Bumberboots! Can you see my hideous error on the water puddle? uh...I tossed one of the other books on top of this one, forgetting the Crystal Effects wasn't dry yet. Well, she is still beautiful just the same.   

Here is Betty Bombshell and she is a cute as her fairy sister above! {really, are there any Bellas I don't love...no, there isn't. If I hit the lottery I would not run out to buy a fancy house or car...it would be to own all the rubber I adore! haha}   

Now, here is my hands down, favorite flower image, that I have colored. I borrowed this beauty...called Peony Square from Stampendous, from my friend Linda.  I always drool over her gorgeous creations when we get together and I wanna color one as pretty as hers. I started this a couple weeks ago, and have been itching to finish it up. I must be insane, because I almost framed the dang thing, I love it that much.

All the images have been colored with both my Lyra and Prismacolor colored pencils. I have really been mixing them up and using whatever shade in whatever company brand.

Well friends, there isn't much 'must see tv' for me, but one of my favorite shows are back... '24' with my other man Jack Bauer. I need to go rub my hands with some scrub and get ready for another day of cleaning. See ya soon!  :)

Well guys, I guess I have been absent long enough...did ya miss me?  With it so cold and still getting dark so early, I get home from work and when I sit down and pull on a blanket, I start to fall asleep. Not an all night sort of sleep, but enough nap that when I wake up I do a little coloring and then go to bed by 10. {So I am not all together unproductive...} Here is the latest Flopsey, all ready for Valentine's Day and just released from My Favorite Things!

Sometimes I wonder myself why I do the things I do and this little background is one of those things.  It is supposed to look like little flower buds, but they didn't come out the way I wanted. But...instead of doing a sample off to the side, like I normally do, I just jumped in and added it to the image. Then I added the glitter... Enough grumbling because he is still cute as ever with his little heart.  You can't tell here, but the heart is raised with foam dots. I have been trying to branch out a bit and do these circle cards, because circles are not easy for me.

For this card I cut it out with a Coluzzle template. You just foldand place the circle template over the fold a little to make the small hinge. Same thing when you are using the Spellbinders Nestibilities, and run it through your machine.  I don't recall where I was just asked this question, on here or over at Splitcoast, so I hope this helps any newbies out.
