paper possibilities

is it the weekend yet...

Hey, hey...it's been a long day! I mean, I just kept wishin' the day away so I could get home and color. Now...just ask me if I got any coloring done? {hanging my head slightly} I didn't. I was doing things I needed to get done for my class this weekend, made dinner and played with the kitten. Hey, there is always tomorrow! lol

But, I do have something really sweet to show you. When we got together with Kimmie and the gang, I borrowed this Stampavie image. I added some sparkle to the dandelion puffs, and to the base of the daisy petals. 

I colored this up without any paper in mind because I don't haul that with me, but I tell ya I sometimes wish I did. I found this My Minds Eye paper on clearance somewhere and even though I am not a huge lover of blues...I just love it, it's the second piece I have used of it.

Now I also have a little something else to share with you. Back in August while I was on vacation, I taught a class here in Michigan. There was a woman who had emailed me about the possibility of me giving her a private class, due to her job hours. I was gonna do it, but time being what it is, slipped away and I didn't get back with Michelle in time and long story short...she showed up in my saturday class! She wrote me a little while after that and asked for my address, she wanted to send me a book that she had an extra copy of. OMG...did my class help her with her coloring or was she just full of this talent all on her own... Michelle send me a "Stella" card and an amazing book that I personally think is the coolest cardmaking companion I have ever seen! And...if that isn't enough, the man is local and my next door neighbor practically!

" Words to the Rescue" has so many sentiments that I have already bookmarked for future use.

Then in even more news...Ms Kraftin' Kimmie is just about launch her *new* stamp company and us girls got to play with her stamps. sunday class at bellaland...

Hey there! I have been busy getting my 'stuff' ready for Bellaland, this weekend! I am getting more excited as the days keep getting closer...did I tell you that I have a seat in Linda's afternoon class? Then I just think our plans are to color the night away..well that's my plans! LOL  It's World Card Making weekend and it sound like Bellaland is gonna be the place to be if you can get to the Toronto area. Emily has all kinds of things planned for your stamping pleasure.

I wanna show you what the gals in the first class on sunday are gonna do.

"my beary best friend" is a good choice for warming up those pencils...nice big areas to color. I know I say it all the time, but this is such a cute image and I love it. The bear could be colored like a traditional teddy bear, but why...it can be so much more with fun colors. I went green {again} and aimed it towards a boy card, because this is what I am doing for a little girl card... "baby bella pea" With the tiny flowers on the baby blanket, you can't really turn this into a 'boy' themed card.

 

"Addy loves to sparkle" was part of my line-up in my class at Scrappin' & Stampin'.  She is a hit with her sparkly dress, so I had to make her for Bellaland classes too.  Last, but not least...my "Stella with her broomstick"! Just in time for halloween, no telling me...I don't send Halloween cards... you know someone needs to have their day cheered up by her! My only wish was that I could have found a source for black bat brads. I put them on my card last week, but they are from a few years ago, and came in a combo pack. I have research to do! lol

 Well, what do ya think? I can't wait to share these with you!! I will be back in a couple days with the second class cards.

*** I used my scor-pal for the lines lines I added on the first two cards. I love my scor-pal, and I can not imagine making cards without this tool, or one like it. I have seen so much done with scoring tools and I admit I know I don't use this tool to its capabilities. All images are stamped on Bella's bestest paper, so if you haven't tried it yet...Sunday is your chance! {you will be a convert *wink*}

lulu hoppin'...

Hey there lulu fans!!!  Welcome to our lulu blog hop!!! {If you're not a lulu fan...you will be when you hop through all the fantastic cards today!} Did ya start at the begining with Emily? our Stamping Bella "leader in enabeling" & the sponsor of our hop today?? I can't wait, it's gonna be a huge distraction because I am prepping for Bellaland next weekend...but everyone needs a break right? LOL

I picked Harriet lulu, cause that plate of muffins looks yummy! Really, who would not love a fresh muffin, baked by a really nice friend! And if ya can't deliver that plate of muffins cross country, you can send this pretty card.  Lulu is glazed, glittered and colored with prismacolor pencils. The paper that was my inspiration is the 'Lemonade' line, from Basic Grey. My faux bow is just a knot, but when ya use wired ribbon, it makes a nice looking bow, without the bulk.  :)  Tip of the day!! or did ya know that already? hehe 

Ok, now here is a fun little added bonus to this hop. Someone is the keeper of the $25.00 Bella voucher. new things to love...

It's a Bella-RIFFIC and before you look at my card and wonder if I had maybe had a few drinks...I assure you, I didn't...LOL You see, every once in a while...even I get cranky & crabby and that was how I came home one day this week. So I was advised by a person who knows me well {Mary} to go home and take a nap. I did! It's like a favorite thing to do!! So I wake up from the nap and eat dinner, get o the computer and try and catch up with a conversation that had several postings... So, I excuse myself to go make my card for friday. {I ended up making 2, because we have the lulu hop on saturday} Long silly story made short, I get to work thursday morning and realize {lightbulb moment} I was supposed to be following the sketch! What the HECK!! Thursday I thought I would have time to fix this error...but we had some place to be after I got outta work.

Here is my new grandkitten Daisy! She is an 8 week old, very tiny siamese baby. There were so many kittens at the breeders house..I could have taken home a bag full of them. Daisy and Niki had a little face to face time, and this tiny lil girl tried to arch her back and hiss, but no noise came out...too cute. Niki ignored her totally!

So here is my card, sorry I didn't remember to follow the sketch exactly...I did have it ready and cut into a circle, LOL!

Betty the bookworm is by one of Emily's new artists, Ellia!  As soon as I saw her line of kiddo's I was in love. How can one person hold so much love for so many different styles?? It's possible and I am walking, living, breathing proof of that! Now, I will tell you, I colored up the first Betty and I totally ruined it, putting it into my Big Shot, trying to emboss it. Again, just don't ask... just know I wasn't drinking.  :)  I had to color up a second Betty, just like the first and they were both inspired by the Cosmo Cricket 'Earth Love' paper line. LOVE it!! I am loving all the new Bella stuff and if you didn't catch Emily's blog post, check it out here. I could start scrappin again, and I need to do a baby book...this stuff new things to love.is gonna be included in there...yeah, it's for a baby girl.

Betty is stamped out on Bella's bestest paper and colored with my prismacolor pencils. Ya know, you just don't realize how much you love this paper until you pull out a stamped image from your stash and it's NOT on this smooth paper. I can not wait until next weekend when I am in Toronto using it with copics. {hehe, my pretty bunches of copics will get some use!}

so much news, so little sleep...

hola mi amigos! Feliz Navidad... {holiday spirit is moving me..go with it, ok?}

I was not sure I would make this post because I was draggin butt when I got home yesterday. I made a big pot of chili...even though our temps for the next few days are in the high 70/low 80 range...then stamped out all the images for my class this friday night @ Scrappin' & Stampin'. *** we are doing the 'tude class again, by popular demand!

Here is a lil preview for ya... As anyone can tell ya, who makes and photographs cards..they look better in real life!

 

 

Now that fall is officially closing in on us...how is everyones Holiday cards coming along?? I added Polly Packagesto my stash and she is pretty in pink.

I am all for traditional colors at Christmas time, but I also love the unconventional ones as well. The frosty pinks, mauves & aquas are a nice change of pace... I used the new Cosmo Cricket holiday pad for my color inspiration. I used my Lyra colored pencils to color this...they been crying in their containers, sad, from neglect.  :(   I also figured out how to use the Spellbinder pierceabilities, that I have had since they came out. Somehow they didn't make sense to me, but then I wasn't reading the directions either. Don't say it...I already know what you are thinking! LOL I have a few of Stamping Bella's holiday sentimentsand I really like this font a lot. Did ya catch the next sketch for our BellaRIFFIC friday?? It is another NON-hair pulling sketch, so give it a go and submit a card...no excuses from anyone, ya hear? Thanks to Karenbellafor her sketch talent this week...mwah!

I am writing this up and pre-posting this, so I have to admit I am getting very tired and need to get to bed very soon. I have a nice full day of welding tomorrow and when you are tired..it makes for along day.  PLUS... I gotta save some strength for when I get home, to make cards, and get ready for a new Bella release on wednesday...a shoping we will go!  Uhhh and a Lulu hop on SCS...where does the time go!  adios amigos!!   ;)

 

 

 

 

 

 

the witch is in...

haha, no, I am not talking about ME!

It's been a very stimulating weekend and I can't believe it is coming to a close already! Between going to Canada, a candle party and grocery shopping...I deserved a tiny bit of a nap! { 30 min. cat nap only, because I will not sleep tonight and tomorrow is a work day :(  }

We had too much fun, more fun than a group of girls should be allowed to have in 8 hours...{8 zippity-doo-dah hours, they went fast!!} I gots to finally really meet Kimmie Reid, who I met only for a few minutes in Aug. I mean, I put on mascara for that girl! lol We had a small delay in making it to Linda's house because one of the main expressways to get down to Detroit was partially closed for repairs. Then on our way home, they seemed to be lining up 5 cars at a time and making us pop our truck for a really cute bomb sniffing dog. Nope, no bomb, just a Key Lime Pie! { & mexican stuffed shells, and a tray of AWESOME desserts, compliments of Pauline. Ok, that wasn't in the car, but we ate it all! YUMM}

So, do ya see why I am dragging just a little today??  I am still in the halloween mood...and today I wanna show you a image that is gonna be part of the lineup in Toronto! Stella & her broomstick!!  I {heart} STELLA!

I had colored her all up and I just knew it had to be shared!! I so don't have an easy time with placing my focal image off kilter, but it worked great for me with Stella. I colored Stella with prismas, although her skintones are colored with Copics. {E0000, E000 & E00} I made the lines on her dress with a very sharp brown pencil and added dots of liquid applique. The black bats are from a few years ago & by Making Memories... I am so glad I remembered I had them. I have been sharing my love of 'wheat' colored ink, in class, when I use my nesties for shading. Here it is paired it up with a vibrant purple and I added the 'wheat' over it, to tone it down. Love this look!! 

Now that I shared another Halloween card...hows about the next sketch! OMG, I know...it's Sunday and you really have no reason not to play along now! Mull it over a day or two and  knock a card out and add it to our sistahood gallery this week. {Email to Emily by thursday night} See ya soon!!

bloomin' birthday...

*** note to self... when the lady at the Thai restaurant says the medium & hot dishes are running a little 'hot'...believe her and order a spice down.  oh yeah, I figured the hot is not bad at all, that's how I roll, a little heat and I blow my nose at least once. Tonight, I may have felt more comfortable had I light a match and just put it inside my mouth. Jordan wanted the medium and she likes her food hot like me, so she had no problem with her dish...we both looked like we had been out drinking all afternoon with our red faces. Here is where she also kept asking me about seeing really hot dishes on Man vs. Food. I am talking signing a waiver HOT! claiming you do not hold the restuarant responsible...lol   Lesson learned, when a Thai woman says it's 'running hot this week'...listen.

After I extinguished my internal fire...I went to my room to chill out with my 'toys'. I put together another Halloween card and played around with my Spellbinders...Piercabilities. Did ya catch Linda's card she did with that edging technique? It was to-die-4! {click here} I have owned mine for some time and I figured it out today girls! Maybe that food put a fire under my behind? You'll see it in a few days time... Today we are gathered for  another Bella-RIFFIC friday!!! {yeah!!! you can clap and cheer a little if you want}

So, Danabella supplied the sketch and us willing participants make our creations and show them off.

Since I sometimes pull images outta my stash, and just color...I had this flower colored and cut with my nesties...paper picked out. I realized that I would have liked to turn this into a 'get well' card, but I don't have a Stamping Bella sentiment to match up. Can you believe it?? lol, I can't!  Perk Me Up Daisy is paired up with some *new* Cosmo Cricket paper "earth love", that I got when I was in Toronto. My coloring on this is with my prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol. A card isn't a card without a wee bit of glitter...don't ya think? Ummm, I am partial to the sewing on every card too! *wink*

siku & shiya, by mo...

Well, it's the middle of the week and I could NOT be more excited!! Ya know, with adding teaching to my schedule, it has cut down on the time I have to get together with my Canadian sistahs...Linda & Pauline!! Yeah, I got to see Linda and wave to Pauline at Stamping Bella...back in Aug! But for all of us to sit around & swap images and talk {& eat}...it's been some time now. That is all changing this saturday and we are adding a couple other sistahs to the party... Kimmie & Andrea. Kimmie and I were on the MFT & Magnolia DT's together and I met up with the girls at a local stamp show in the beginning of Aug. It was fun and quick...I was on my way to teach at Scrappin' & Stampin'. This saturday we are meeting up at Linda's and I can only imagine Linda's hubby Mark has to be so happy with a house full of ladies! Cackling, loud and full of ink! {let's all assume that Mark is like Jim...whatever makes the wife happy, makes the hubby happy...LOL}

Remember back a week or so ago when I made the little cyber trip to The Digital Pencil Too... and I showed you the little 1st birthday girl? Well, this is the image that started it ALL. I saw these eskimo's { Siku & Shiya}and I was in LOVE!

Be warned that if you like these images and visit Mo's site... you will return from your cyber trip a little lighter in the pocketbook! But, it's a good thing because it doesn't take up any room in your stamp drawer...

This is gonna be my mom's birthday card {dec.} and I told her it was gonna be posted today, because I can't keep many secrets...lol  I did color this with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol and there is LOTS of glitter in that gorjuss trim on the coats.  *sigh* I don't keep many of my things and get attatched to them...but this one will be hard to let go of.

emma lulu...

So my torture continues as I turn on my computer...once I get home from work...do I dare think I will play on Facebook for a few minutes...or just get straight to work and write up a blog post.... Forget about dinner, there is some popcorn I can eat while I kill vampires and crunch Christmas balls {even though stomping on pretty colored ornaments goes against my love of my tree...} Oh, wait, here comes Jordan with an offering of yet some other site where I can waste my time playing some santa themed game. For the love of all things stamped... it's hard to stop playing games when there is a high score staring you in the face. Some unknown person scored 5 million, probably sitting in a remote part of India, and by crack-y I could do it too if I didn't have to sleep and work! Oh, and get a post out to show ya what I been up to...and show ya the latest BellaRIFIC sketch for this friday!!

Hmmm, now with the business part out of the way, how about a little something I made this past Sunday for Jordan to give to her co-worker/friend Sondria. Seem Sondria has been to my blog and liked my handiwork and wanted a card for her birthday. Jordan told me a few  of her favorite colors and that she also like the beautiful crocheted flowers that Meahni's mom made for me. So that was my task and this is what I came up with...  I personally think she is pretty as a picture and I am lovin' my lulu's from Stamping Bella!! This is Emma lulu and I made her African-American in honor of Sondria! {In case you are wondering, the prismacolor chocolate is all I used on her face, and a little dark umber at the tops of her legs.} Emma is all glittered up and ready for a day out with her friends. She is colored on the bestest bella paper, with my pencils and gamsol. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye...'Oh La La'. I used a black glaze pen and a thin black non-bleeding marker, to darken the stamped black ink. If you use the black glaze pen on everything black, you can't add the white pencil highlights. whew, that felt like a mouthful of information there...

I was originally gonna put this in a frame with Sondria's name on it, but I could not find my stash of frames. I know they are in that room?? I think, but that is why I made such a large card outta this. I don't normally make 6 x 6, I had to put it in a zip-lock baggie for crying out loud! lol

So, Sondria, if you are seeing this I hope your birthday was awesome and I hope you like your little big card!!  :)

witches are in the air...

Hi!!  An extra bonus at my class yesterday was one of my friend/neighbors showing up and giving me a Bella image I don't have!! witchybella...

I started out coloring up a 'tude girl, but then switched this this halloween image. What do you think about that sky color around her? I am in love with prismacolors 'periwinkle' for the night sky shade. I stumbled upon it this week and it sounds odd, but it looks more blue than purple...and it's just a nice color. Of course no image is complete without the addition of some glossy clear glaze pen. I finished her up today and added a *new* EK Success punch that I just bought this afternoon. The pattered paper is from Imaginesce

Oh my gosh, I love making Halloween cards. I am off to get my card lineup for Toronto finalized and the color list sent to Emily. I can tell you that I am doing one class with 2 lulu's & 2 'tude girls. Another class is gonna include the baby bella pea image, like I just did a few days ago! I love that pea pod!! LOL Now, I gotta decide just wat other ones I wanna do! Such a fun decision I have...    :)
