sweet is MY middle name...

It's New Year's Eve and I thought I would share something sweet with you. Beacuse really, what is better than sweets, right? lol Well, here it is...sweets that don't go to your bum! Rumball with Cherry on top, from Stamping Bella. If you click on the link you will see the stunning card that Linda made for this, I LOVED her idea of using the liquid applique as the drizzle and adding glitter. Man, I saw it in person and that's why it has taken me so long to color one up myself. hehe

I stamped this out on Bella's bestest paper, used my prismacolor pencils and added glitter to the tops of the bon-bons. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye, October Afternoon and the dotted brown is Bo-Bunny...LOVE that stuff! I added my own little sentimet because I gave this to my friend at work yesterday... Hope you had a GREAT birthday Phyllis!! I even let all my co-workers sign it, no water or silicone allowed. It stayed on my desk and away from wet hands.

I finished work and headed on to make some shopping stops before going to my BFF Mary's house. {She made a yummy Mexican meal for her hubby and me..} I was able to get my shopping out of the way, get everything I was looking for and color three images while at Mary's. There was a little snow falling and although it was a long day...I got so much accomplished. Now, I am on the first of 4 days off from work and I need to get more coloring done and get ready for the next class here in Livonia.

I survived Christmas and I'm back. Did you all get what you wanted for the holidays? Are you wishing you had somewhere to spend your money and get something you reallllly want? I was ready to get outta the Christmassy mood and jump onto something colorful. How's this for a bright boost? 

I picked up Puff because I saw someone do a card in one of our BellaRIFFIC challenges. Now, just like you guys have noticed, sometimes you see things and then you see it in a different light and you decide you gotta have it! I'm like thatr too, I see things and think, oh...i'll wait. Then I see someone use it and I gotta have it as well. So Puff is dressed in her finest reds & oranges & pinks and just in time for Valentines day. {or whenever, really} She is stamped on Bellas bestest paper and colored with my prismacolor pencils. I used the nesties for shading, layering...and even pulled out a Cuttlebug embossing folder. OMG, I have not used those in a while! I also added the usual glitter and glaze and added a sentiment. 

So, any plans for New Years? Me, you ask? No...I went to see a couple of movies over Christmas and I give two thumbs UP for Avatar & Up In The Air. There are a couple movies I do wanna see still, but I think it's gonna wait til they are on demand. I really need to find my mojo and color...4 days of coloring and that's all. Haha, will I be able to stick to this plan?? I hope so.

We don't have a BellaRIFFIC challenge this friday, which is New Years Day, but we will resume with one the following week and the theme is "Back to School"  Well peeps, I am outta here, see ya soon!!

Happy Holidays!

If you are spending a few minutes on the internet, surfing blogs, waiting for food to finish cooking, guests to arrive or maybe for your chance to get into the bathroom... I hope you're happy today.

While I still had a few dishes to wash, I knew I still had to put my mom's Christmas card together. I know, you may be looking at this going...Christmas? Yeah, I wanted to give her another Mo eskimo image! from The Digital Pencil Too. 

I colored this with my prismacolor pencils and it's printed out on Bella's bestest paper. I have been asked before, and I do not use anything as a fixitive when I print this off of my Epson printer. I do let it get dry and don't really color as soon as it's printed.

I did look up some images of husky pups to see what colors they come in... there are a gazillion! haha Jim and his family raised them when he was a kid and he did not agree with my color placement. I think they look kinda cute even if they may not look authentic.

The snowflake is a die from Spellbinders. I bought it last year and I can not believe that it takes the last card of this holiday season before I used it. The patterned paper is Bo-Bunny and the punch I used is from Martha.

I watched a movie on demand last night.. Julie & Julia. It was so good, and now I wanna know more about Julia Child. Was she American? I thought she was French, lol.  I have a few movies on my wish list and I plan on seeing them in the next few days. Yes, George's Up In The Air is on the top of that list. Peace out.

Middle of the week and I am so happy to be going on a short vacation from work for 4 days! woohoo!!

I been showing my lovely Bella's some lovin' and now I gotta share what I made for a little cutie named Sydnee. {If you been following this for a while then you know I made a Halloween frame for Sydnee, and a wall hanging for her room before she was born.} Well, it her first Christmas and I grabbed a bunch of melamine dishware for her at Target. You know, the bright, shaped, colorful stuff that they roll out for every season and holiday. I am a HUGE fan of those plates and bowls myself...but Jordan and my niece are kinda outta this age so Sydnee gets a bag full! Plus, I have a good feeling her closet is overflowing with beautiful clothes. Sydnee gets card fit for a princess... 

It's another fabulous digi image from Mo @ the Digital Pencil Too. I wanted bright and I think it delivered! I hope Sydnee's mom loves it as much as I do!

I now have to show you what my BFF gave me for Christmas. I swear, she just always gets me the perfect gifts... I am sooo in love with this stamp she ordered me! Of course, I had already signed the back of all my cards and then I opened this. Is this elegant and classy like...moi? LOL

I LOVE it!!!!!

I also hope you all get something special, fun or whatever it is you wanted, I know I am one lucky chick! 

more sparkle please...

Back again, as promised with another Christmas image to show ya. I gave this card to one of my BFF's at dinner monday night. 

This card is using some of my favorite colors this year and I have used them alot! Those seafoam-y blue/green shades from Bazzill, I could almost grab it for every other card...lol

I really didn't color Birds decorating Trees...from Stamping Bella, with any single piece of paper in mind, but I hope it doesn't show...  I figure with greens and red, where can you go wrong, right? So I went for my snowflake covered Bo-Bunny paper and played around with a layout. The trees are stamped out on Bella's bestest paper and I did that "snowglobe" like effect with all the snow cascading down from the top. Don't you love it when a card sparkles!! I man, I can go to bed covered in glitter and I don't care, it can be all over my hands and face too! hehe

I went back to doing something I used to do a lot...adding the sentiment {HOLIDAY WISHES}like a little tab, coming off a side of my image. I really know I have been leaving so many cards empty, with out sentiments and that will change in 2010! I have way too many sentiments for my naked cards.

cuddlewee fairies trimmin' da tree...

Good Morning! Boy, I have only 2 1/2 days to work this week and there is a smile on my face. Last year we did not work between Christmas and New Year, but no such luck this year. There must be a lot of toilets under someone's trees...LOL

Ok, are you ready to see something that I have not seen done yet? Are you ready for cute?  

These little cuddlewee's are decorating up a tree and they look like they are having fun, even though they got some teeny tiny smiles on their faces. I did what was knicknamed the "snowglobe" effect, even though this globe isn't round. haha  I like the look of the glittery snow falling down from the top. {you'll see this again this week!} I colored this with Prisma's and gamsol and it's on the bestest paper to color on...Bella's. I used the silver paper as well, seeing as I was making yesterday's & today's card back to back.

It's funny, ya know, I was thinking that here I am rolling out all these Christmas cards and really unless you live next to Bellaland, you won't be wanting to color them up any time soon! **note to self** get more stuff stamped out this week!

I had a small pile of holiday paper on my desk and this is from My Minds Eye. It seemed kinda like a fun splash of color for the little girls who are bust trimming the tree. Man, I bought a ton of paper for this holiday season, and didn't get around to very much of it... hmmmm

snowy branches....

So here goes paula's Christmas card blitz! I just finished putting together 2 cards, but I know me and as the night gets later I take longer to write a post. If you saw my post from this morning, with my goofy poem, then ya know I spent last night coloring some Bella's. This image took me a long time to get the nerve to color because "someone" did a gorjuss card in our BellaRIFFIC challenge a while back. **wink** hey Michelle!  

Stamping Bella's Merry Christmas branch with birdies is all glittered and snowy for the holidays.. {kinda like the surprise we woke up to saturday morning, NOT as bad as the east coast}

I had some bright and cheery Bo-Bunny paper on my desk when I was coloring this up and that is where I got my color inspiration for the little lettered signs. The little signs are also cut out and popped up for dimension. I colored this on Bella's bestest paper and I used my nesties and some silver decorative paper for some shine. {This paper is in large sheets and I got it at Michael's in the art/drawing area}

To get the snow on my branches, I used my Marvy liquid applique and added glitter while it was wet. I still never went out on a hunt for that white flower soft.

Tomorrow I have a card that I don't think I have seen anyone use the image before. I and heading out after work to get a last minute gift...totally didn't get it all done today. shoot!  Hope you are all more further along than me! hehe see ya tomorrow, missed you!

i'm back...sort of..........

...I spent last night coloring a ton of Christmassy images and I gotta get them turned into cards for friends and family. That means that later today my blog will look like I never left it! yeah!!!

I had a little poem started out to post on here and I never got it finished. I love to do that while I work and yesterday I was working by myself at Flushmate...othere were working, but I was kinda in my own area.

It was going to go like this..

Twas the week before Chrstmas   and all through my house,    My identity was stolen.... it wasn't that mouse! 

My blog has sat empty    I had nothing to share, Hours spent on the phone, I've still got some hair.

My pencils were sad   the paper was bare,  but they knew I'd return   and soon color'd be there.

I've not lost my spirit    just the wind in my sail,  Now I'm back to coloring... over this I'll prevail!

The Bella's were scattered    across my table with glee,   which one do I color first?  which one screams "color ME!"

...hahaha ok, now I gotta get a few cards made, but this was running through my head yesterday and today. I need to get a little running around done this morning and finish grabbing a few things. But, there will be cards a posted tonight!!  hmmm what do I post first?

Hey guys! I been trying to get some coloring done and cards and projects made for the holidays...and boy are the days dwindling down! I don't think it's any huge deal to mention on here that I came home saturday after work, opened my mail and discovered that someone has decided to steal my identity. Yeah, seriously, they thought I needed a $1,000 AT&T bill that was attatched to 5 phone lines! I can't even begin to wonder what on earth you do to ru up such a tab in a little more than a weeks time. The intro packet arrived in the mail saturday and the actual bill arrived today...Merry Christmas to me!! While I was dreaming that one day I would like an iphone like my pals, someone actually did just that, and at least one Blackberry too. So saturday I did NOT get a nap in after work, I had to call AT&T, talk to fraud and then call the credit agency to put fraud alerts out for my soc. sec. number. I still need to file a police report tomorrow because the mini station near my house closes at 4. 

All that excitement put a crimp in my mood this weekend and tonight I am trying to find the inspiration to create.  {I did manage to make a huge mess in my room while doing that creating...}  Meet another Christy Croll image 

called "fabby" I colored her to the tune of some paper that I ended up not using...it was all type and from Imaginisce...I really like the paper, but on second thought, it seems not right for this image, maybe a scrapbook page instead. So I did something I realllllly don't do much and that was to not use any patterned paper. It seems like such a horrible thing to do, but I did it, lol Then I went on the hunt for a cool sentiment and I really like the "purse thing" because even thugh I could never get into this position...it is exactly how I feel when I get a new Coach purse. {or maybe color something real pretty...}

Fabby is on Bella's bestest paper with a little glitter and glaze pen added. She is colored with my prismacolor pencils too, but you probably knew that was coming didn't ya? Ok...next project to share...I finally got around to making Emily a luggage tag like the one I made myself a while back. Yeah, it's better than mine, more thought out and I jumped for joy {on the inside} when I colored this last night.

I asked Emily which colors to do "pack your bags" in and she said she likes funky greens and pinks...it's funky alright!

The paper I used for this is from Collage Press and it's called Sweet Shoppe. I used my nestie to cut the deckle rectangles and Emily is spelled out in a Sizzix font. This is all done in pencil as well.

And I need to go and take something now because I feel a little crappy tonight. It's quiet at home and I think the couch is calling my name...or is that my bed?

This week is our last BellaRIFFIC friday until after the new year...Guess what it is...SEWING!! be it real with a machine or faux, just submit to Emily for a chance at some Bella BUCKS!! Deadline is thursday eve!
 

light up the holidays...

The month is zooming by and here we are almost in the middle of December! Can you believe it? Let's just jump into the goods, ok? Today is BellaRIFFIC friday and that means a challenge... did you all get your "bling on"?

When I was in Toronto for the CreativFestival, there was a booth across from Bella. This woman was doing demos with Glitter Ritz, it's micro fine glitter that gets applied and then when you rub it, it feels like velvet. I can tell you that is stays right where it's supposed to and you don't pick it up and turn into a disco ball. I, myself had purchased this Glitter Ritz at Bella, back in June...the colors were just out of this world! There are a ton of them to pick from and if you like dazzle, you won't be sorry. Why am I telling you this, because I bought the product and really didn't know how to truely use it. I was planning on sprinkling it on like my Glamour Dust. Nope...you used a double sided adhesive, available in different widths, and apply the glitter to that. Burnish with a piece of paper, your finger, and voila... you will not be able to look away, it's that shimmery! I promise! Here's what I did the other night... 

I colored ornamenty lamp in beigy/goldy/brown colors. I wanted "classy holiday", a little over the top maybe. So I lay the doublesided adhesive down and then poured on the glitter! A picture will never, never do this justice for the sparkle. {but you get the idea, heh?}

Nothing changed here folks...I colored on Bella's bestest paper with my prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The golden snowflake paper is from Graphic 45 and the reason I colored this the way I did. I added Rangers Glossy Accents to the ornaments, for some dimension. The sentiment is from my own hands.

We had last week off from a challenge, so I am looking forward to plenty of fresh ideas this week! hehe I really like "bling" it's just hard for Paula to do, I am a total "plain jane" kinda gal! Check out Emily and all the other Babes later to see who knows how to sparkle with class!

Saturday I will be spending the day at Flushmate...more money in my pocket, less coloring for my soul! Jim and Jordan are heading to his sisters for a day of baking. {Jim does make some pretty good choc. chip cookies, but I think more or less...he is a taste tester for the girls!} Until I see you again...happy weekend...
